Bryan ISD Students Shine in Local Art Competition

Results are in from the 2016 Brazos Valley Fair and Rodeo Youth Western Art Show and Photography Contests. Bryan ISD students earned the top spot in 21 out of 29 categories in the art and photo contests. Their artwork will be on display Oct. 21-23 at the Brazos County Expo Complex.

Public and private school students in Brazos County, as well as seven other surrounding counties in the Brazos Valley, were eligible to compete in the contests. Every grade level was represented and classified into four divisions. The following Bryan ISD students were named champion of their division:


  • Amelia Elmendorf, Johnson Elementary (Grades K-2 Division)
  • Mackenzie McLaughlin, Bowen Elementary (Grades 3-5 Division)
  • Tanner Long, Jane Long Middle School (Grades 6-8 Division)


  • Gabby Sagura, Sul Ross Elementary (Grades K-2 Division)
  • Natalie Don Juan, Fannin Elementary (Grades 3-5 Division & Grand Champion)
  • Melia Guadarrama, Rudder High School (Grades 9-12 Division)
